O’Neill BLue

O’Neill Blue products were designed for durability, more circularity and towards a better future. That’s why we currently have a minimum requirement of at least 50% preferred materials in a style to be classified as O’Neill Blue. We are proud to say that more than 8 out of 10 of the O’Neill Spring/Summer collection consists of O’Neill Blue product* - and we won’t stop there. We are well on our way towards a 100% O’Neill Blue range by 2025.

*A product is O’Neill Blue when at least 50% of the shell material derives from a preferred source. Please see our sustainability report for more information.

Sustainability Pillars

01
TO MAKE BETTER PRODUCTS

O’Neill Blue products were designed for durability, circularity and a better future. That’s why we currently use 40% more sustainable materials across all O’Neill Blue garments.

02
TO IMPROVE OUR SUPPLY CHAIN

Our goal is to use a majority of sustainable production practices throughout the supply chain at O’Neill. We strive towards total compliance to our code of conduct and to have full visibility and transparency into our supply chain. The continued collaboration in multistakeholder projects remains a top priority to improve our value chain.

03
TO CHANGE HOW WE WORK

We move closer to better business practices by constantly improving internal training, ensuring forecasting precision and minimizing our footprint with every step.

04
TO GIVE BACK TO SOCIETY

In 1996, Jack O’Neill created the Sea Odyssey to educate students on the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with the sea and environment. To this day we are finding new ways to give back and follow Jack’s original legacy.

We do this by constantly working on 3 main areas:

01

Make our collections as sustainable as possible.

EXPLORE HOW
02

Shared responsibility across our supply chain.

BY USING REPREVE®, O’NEILL DIVERTED MORE THAN

PLASTIC BOTTLES FROM LANDFILLS SO FAR.

We use REPREVE® made from recycled PET bottles cleaned and woven into our yarns. The yarn is then spun using the highest quality recycled fibre chips and flakes certified by U TRUST® to verify claims. This form of synthetic fibres relies on fewer greenhouse gases and conserves water and energy in the process.
